Manage Router
Role: UX/UI Designer
Company: Altice
Context
Altice introduced Smart WiFi, a new system designed to simplify home WiFi by automatically placing devices on the optimal band. To support this rollout and encourage adoption, the existing Manage Router interface needed a complete refresh. The original UI was dated, cluttered, and placed advanced options front and center, which made it difficult for average users to navigate.
The goal was to create a modern, user-friendly design aligned with Optimum’s updated visual theme — while still providing advanced options for power users.

My Contribution
As the UX/UI Designer, I redesigned the Manage Router experience end-to-end:
- Modernized Interface: Delivered a clean, contemporary UI consistent with the updated Optimum brand. The image posted here on the left is what the original looked like with a simple reskin.
- Smart WiFi Transition: Designed flows that encouraged and guided users to upgrade to Smart WiFi, reducing friction during migration.

- Clear Hierarchy: Prioritized common tasks and simplified the page structure for everyday users, while moving advanced settings into a dedicated section.
- Legacy Support: Created refreshed versions of the Manage Router UI for customers who had not yet upgraded, ensuring they still benefited from a cleaner, more intuitive interface.

- Router Icons: Designed distinct icons for four router types — fiber router, all-in-one box, and two legacy models — so users could easily recognize their equipment.
Outcome
The redesigned Manage Router interface increased adoption of Smart WiFi while improving overall usability for all customers. By balancing simplicity for average users with accessible advanced options, the refresh made router management more approachable and visually consistent with Optimum’s modern product ecosystem.
