Hey Everyone, Here’s a new post on a Catalog that I designed a little while ago. I think the cover design came out extremely nicely, and I feel it’s one of my best designs so far. This is why I want to share it with everyone. Well just like how I start off all of my catalogs I do an image search. I try and find images that sort of represents the topic of the catalog. After I find the images that I want to use I try to come up with 3 different layouts. Here are the the 3 layouts that I came up with. If you haven̵.
Hey Everyone, With in the last month I’ve had quite a few web banner designs. I updated my “Web Designs” gallery so go check it out. Here I’d just like to talk about a few of these designs that I came up with. These banners are first all very small. The specs are 468 x 60 pixels which is really small if you are supposed to show off a book. There isn’t much room for the to show the contents of the book Cover, so I have to figure out how to make the banner legible. This way the viewer will know what the banner is adv.
Hey Everyone, Last week I went to a presentation the city hosted by Monotype Imaging on their new online service WEBFONTS! Here’s what it does. Indesign uses a different set which I feel isn’t as easy, but with Indesign you can choose the spaces from a list which I think is very helpful if you don’t happen to remember all the types of spaces. Nonbreaking Standard Space Cmd-Space or control-Space Breaking en-Space Option-Space Nonbreaking en-Space .
Hey Everyone, Here’s a new project that I want to share with everyone. This is a brochure designed to help sell the Linguistics titles published by Oxford. In the preliminary stages of this brochure the marketer and I were discussing different ideas for the style of this brochure over all. In the past people have used typewriters, letter blocks, and someone writing. We ended up coming up with the idea of trying to use punctuation marks. Once we came up with the over all idea for the design I went looking for images and ideas on how to mak.
